Contributing to the
RMC Research & Education Foundation
Contributors to the RMC Research & Education Foundation reap many
benefits. First, they are helping to support research and
educational programs that will ultimately improve and
advance the concrete industry. Second, contributions to
501(c)3 organizations such as the RMC Research & Education Foundation
are tax deductible.
The ultimate fundraising goal for the RMC Research
& Education Foundation is to achieve a $20 million endowment, the
interest from which will sustain approximately $1 million in
program funding annually.
Why Build an Endowment?
When the RMC Research & Education Foundation was first started back in
1991, fundraising efforts surrounded specific projects such
as the purchase of equipment for the A. H. Smith Research
Laboratory or to launch a new educational program such as
the Certified Concrete Sales Professional Program. Then, in
2000, leaders within the industry realized that much more
could be done to strengthen and expand the industry were
they to establish a $20 million endowment from which
approximately $1 million in annual interest could fund vital
research projects and educational programs in perpetuity.
Thus began the Building a Strong Foundation for the
Future campaign to reach the aggressive but attainable
goal of establishing a $20 million endowment. The
Foundation's
Impact
Statement includes specific examples about how the
Foundation's work is improving the industry.
