Projects

One of the goals of the RMC Research & Education Foundation is to build our endowment to $20 million which, in turn, will provide approximately $1 million annually in project funding in perpetuity. The mission of the RMC Research & Education Foundation is to support research and educational programs that will help advance and improve the concrete industry.

Why support research? If we didn’t research our product, how would we ever learn anything new or improve it? Research projects supported by the RMC Research & Education Foundation help not only to make advancements in the applications and uses of concrete, but also help the industry strive to meet better environmental standards and help to strengthen the health and safety of our industry’s personnel.

Why support educational programs? For any industry to grow, there needs to be a constant influx of fresh ideas and dynamic people who can help move the industry forward. The educational programs funded by the RMC Research & Education Foundation help the concrete industry stay on the cutting edge by supporting programs and certifications that improve the knowledge base of the industry’s professionals.

Project Approval Process
If you have an idea for a project, please visit our Submit a Proposal page where you may review our Grant Guidelines which includes all of the information on the details of the project that will need to be included in your proposal. The proposal is then reviewed by the RMC Research & Education Foundation’s Program Committee and Advisory Council. The Program Committee is comprised of members from the Foundation’s Board of Trustees who communicate regularly through conference calls. They will evaluate each proposal and may seek guidance from the Advisory Council. The Advisory Council consists of a variety of industry professionals and Foundation contributors whose expertise within the industry help to provide guidance on which projects will most benefit the industry and the public at large.  After review, the Program Committee's recommendation for each project is then considered by the Board of Trustees who then votes to either approve or reject each project.

Requests for Proposals

No proposals are requested at this time. However, we welcome unsolicited project proposals for consideration at all times. Please see our Project Approval Process section above or our Submit a Proposal page for more information.
